CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA
RESOLUTION 2 -2004
AMENDED RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF THE REAL
PROPERTY COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE MECHANICS LAUNDRY
WHEREAS, The real property located near North 10 and North E Streets, commonly
known as the "Mechanics Laundry", is currently unoccupied; and
WHEREAS, The City of Richmond wishes to purchase such real property for the
purpose of providing additional parking for the retail facilities located on or
near North E Street or for other municipal purposes; and
WHEREAS, Indiana Code § 36 -1- 10.5 -5, permits the purchase of real property, valued
in excess of Twenty -five Thousand Dollars ($25,000.00), only if Common
Council adopts a resolution authorizing such purchase; and
WHEREAS, It is anticipated that the purchase price of the Mechanics Laundry will
exceed Twenty -five Thousand Dollars ($25,000.00).
NOW THEREFORE, Be it Resolved by the Common Council as follows:
1. The City of Richmond is authorized to purchase the real property commonly
known as "Mechanics Laundry".
2. The appropriate employees and agents of the City are hereby authorized to perform
all necessary steps to effectuate the purchase.
3. The final decision to purchase this property and the determination of the purchase
price will be made by a vote of Common Council.
Passed and adopted this / day of 2004, by the Common Council of
the City of Richmond, Indiana.
