MINUTES OF THE COUNCIL WORK SESSION
(BUDGET COMMITTEE)
JULY 23, 2012
CALL TO ORDER
The Council Budget Committee Work Session meeting of July 23, 2012, was
convened at 5:30 p.m. by Councilman Shawn Schulte, Finance Committee
Chairman.
ATTENDANCE
The following Council Members were present when the meeting convened:
Present: Bray, Carroll, Henry, Luebbert, Mihalevich, Pope, Prather,
Schulte, Scrivner, and Weber
Absent: None
A quorum was present.
DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS
Presentation of Mayor's Budget — Mayor Struemph gave a brief explanation of
the budget worksheet and the budget book which was distributed to the Council.
Finance Director Steve Schlueter explained that the budget distributed was the
2012 figures less a 2 % -2.5% reduction for the City.
Discussion of Procedures — Committee Chairman Schulte explained that the
committee will go through the budget worksheet line item by line item and once
the items on the worksheet have been discussed and voted upon then additional
items may be discussed. Mr. Schulte asked that the City Clerk start a group
email in which the Council can ask department directors specific questions
regarding the budget.
The next budget meeting is scheduled for July 31, 2012 at 5:30 p.m.
ADJOURNMENT
Motion was made by Councilman Luebbert for adjournment, seconded by
Councilman Mihalevich, and approved unanimously at 5:50 p.m.
