AWARDING CONTRACT FOR THE COLLECTION, REMOVAL AND
DISPOSAL OF GARBAGE AND TRASH REFUSE I
TO SUBURBAN DISPOSAL, INC.
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council have previously authorized the solicitation of bid
proposals for a contract for the collection, removal and disposal of garbage and trash
refitse for the Borough of Carteret; and
WHEREAS, on January 11, 2011, the Borough received bid proposals for said contract;
and
WHEREAS, the Governing Body and the Borough Law Director have reviewed the
various bid proposal service options for the above described contract and the respective
bid prices for the same;
WHEREAS, the Borough Law Director has reconnnended an award of a three year (3)
year contract to Suburban Disposal Inc., 54 Montesano Road, Fairfield NJ 07004, as low
bidder for said contract based upon the service options selected by the Mayor and
Council; and
WHEREAS, funds are or will be available for the award of said contract based upon
accordance with the annual budgetary appropriation for the same.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the il4ayor and Council the Borough of
Carteret, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey as follows:
I. The bid proposal of Suburban Disposal Inc., 54 Montesano Road, Fairfield
NJ 07004 initially for a three (3) year contract for the collection, disposal
and removal of garbage and trash refuse, to include the service options
designated in the contract documents, in the total amount not to exceed
$1,473,000.00 and in conformance with the bid specifications in all
respects is hereby accepted.
2. The Borough's chief executive may modify the within award and
authorize up to a five (5) year contract with Suburban Disposal Inc. as low
bidder for disposal and removal of garbage and trash refuse, to include the
service options designated in the contract documents, at the bid price
submitted for the same.
3. The Borough Law Director is hereby authorized to prepare the necessary
contract documents and the Mayor and Borough Clerk are hereby
authorized to execute the same.
4. A copy of this Resolution shall be forwarded to the Borough Law
Director, the Borough Purchasing Agent and Suburban Disposal, 54
Montesano Road, Fairfield, NJ 07004.

1.
