CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION, OCTOBER 29, 2012
CALL TO ORDER
The October 29, 2012, City Council Work Session was convened at 5:40 P.M. by Mayor
Eric Struemph.
ATTENDANCE
The following Council Members were present when the meeting convened:
Present: Bray, Carroll, Henry, Mihalevich, Prather, and Scrivner
Absent: Luebbert, Pope, Schulte, and Weber
A quorum was present.
DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS
Conference Center RFP:
City Administrator Nathan Nickolaus distributed decision points to discuss with the
Council to help provide staff with direction in drafting an RFP for their final approval
before it is sent to proposers.
Decisions provided to staff at this meeting were as follow:
1. Decision Point #9 — Design and Construction, accept any firm that can be
bonded.
2. Decision Point #10 — Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment, Hotel pays initial cost;
and City will not pay or share in costs of replacement
3. Decision Point #11 — Parking, Hotel in proposal (Phase II) will show in their
proposal how parking to be provided for conference center
4. Decision Point #12a — Building Specifications, size: ballroom / exhibit space
should be 30,000 square feet
5. Decision Point #12b — Building Specifications, hotelier should indicate how much
additional ballroom /exhibition /meeting space their facility will provide.
6. Decision Point #13 — Back -of- house, the HOTEL will determine what is needed
