HomeMy Public PortalAbout10/11/1958TOWN OF GULF STREAM, FLORIDA MINUTES OF REGULAR COI-1MISSION MEETING Held: October 11, 19158 Present: L. Seton Lindsay, Mayor William F. Koch, Vice -Mayor H. V. Pope, Commissioner The minutes of the regular Commission meeting held on September 13, 1958 were read, approved and adopted. J. R. Fountain reported bank balances on September 30, 1958, as follows: General Account $4,342.57 Water Account 91.911.18 Reserve Depreciation Account 856.87 Reserve Depreciation Savings 8,000.00 Payments during the month of September, 1958 from the General Fund, were on checks numbered 596 through 615 and totalled $p1079.83. Payments from the Water Fund during September, 1958 were on checks numbered 160 and 161 and totalled $p64.00. A11 of the above payments were unanimously approved. The Commissioners approved the payment of $¢270.00 to Brockway.. Weber and Brockway for survey work done regarding drain- age at and near the intersection of Gulf Stream and Banyan Roads. Yx, Koch made a motion that the Commissioners meet with the property owners in the drainage area between the polo stables and Major Colhoun's home. Mr. Pope seconded the motion and it carried unanimously. The Mayor appointed Mr. Koch as a Committee of one to make arrangements for the meeting and to notify the in- terested parties. Mayor Lindsay announced that J. R. Fountain wishes to leave on his vacation prior to Monday, October 13, 1958 and return by 9 a.m., October 27th. He said that if there was no objection by any of the Commissioners, that J. R. Fountain could take his vacation at this time. There was no objection voiced. The Commissioners agreed to have Mayor Lindsay contact Dorothea Bauer and ask her to stay in Town Hall from 10 a.m. until 12 noon, Monday through Friday for two weeks. The Commissioners agreed to pay Mrs. Bauer $30.00 for the two week's work, if she accepted. The Commissioners noted unanimously to pay Police Chief Roy Cowart 0430.00 per month, Patrolman Melton Partin $340.00 per month and J. R. Fountain $385.00 per month for the fiscal year be- ginning October 1, 1958. The Commissioners appointed Evelyn Fountain, Clerk of the Municipal Court, beginning October 1, 1958.
