SUMMARY STATEMENT:
McCall City Code (MCC) Title 1 is currently out of date with the City’s current administrative needs and
practices. The last update made to MCC Title 1 was done in 2004; however the majority of Title 1 was
written in the 1990’s. In an effort to bring the code up-to date and relevant, staff has made some
recommended amendments to MCC Title 1.
At the December 15, 2011 City Council meeting the Council and staff started the process to identify areas
in MCC Title 1 that needs to be amended. The intention of this work session is to conclude the
amendments and at the direction from Council, staff and the City Attorney will prepare an ordinance for
Council approval at the next regular Council meeting. As part of the discussion staff is requesting
direction from Council on section 1.7.4 Absence of the City Manager, to clarify if an officer of the City
only be allowed to fill in for the City Manager, or would the City Manager have discretion over whom to
appoint in his or her absence.
Attached are the recommended changes to MCC Title 1, changes from the first work session have been
incorporated.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Direct staff to prepare an ordinance for the MCC Title 1 amendments for Council’s approval at the next
regular Council meeting.
