Chairman Greenberg called the adjourned meeting of the Parks and Recreation. Commission to order at .7:40 p.m. on January" 3 1973, in the North Meeting Room of the Temple City City Hall, 5938 North Kauffman Avenue, Temple City, California. 2. Commissioners Adams, Andrews, Harrington, Villar and Greenberg were present. Also present was V. B. Kobett, Director of Parks and Recreation. 3. Chairman Greenberg advised that the main purpose of this meeting is to continue discussion relative to the formation of a Citizen's Committee for the purpose of meeting with the master plan developer, Recreation Systems, Inc., to assist with the development of the master plan for Live Oak Park. Commission determined that members of the advisory committee be residents of Temple City and it was suggested that the Committee be named "Park Development Committee." The following people were suggested by the Commission for considera- tion as members of the Park Development Committee: Steve Johnson, ,Janice Morgan, James Mac Laren, Mary Torres, Ed Linberg, Norris Beakes, Lloyd Mitchell, Gary Peterson, Ray Gudie, Mark Hodson, Clay Bach� meier and Frank Villar, as representatives of the Park: and Recrea- tion Commission. Commissioners and the Department will contact these people to in- quire, if a Park Development Committee was formed and they were in- vited to serve, would they be willing and available with the under- standing that upon completion of the park development plan the committee would be officially dissolved and their responsibility completed. It is the desire of the Commission to complete formation of the Park Development Committee at their next regular meeting on January 17, 1973. 4. Chairman Greenberg reminded the Commission that it is important that they renew their study of the standar--ds -for "the use of the park as soon as possible. 5. Chairman Greenberg read memo from Administrative Assistant Biel, dated December 27, 1972, relative to providing information for the Youth Commission discussion of the proposed master plan -for Live Oak Park. The Chairman will attend the next regular meeting of the Youth Com- mission an January 10, 1973, to advise them of the progress of the development of a master plan for Live Oak .Park and to answer ques- tions the Youth Commissioners might present relative to this subject. Director Kobett advised that fourteen openings existed in the Department's Tots Recreation Program and inquired if the Com- mission would consider allowing non - residents to enroll in the Tots Recreation Program asc1° the program has been opened to Temple City residents for enrollment since December 20, 1972. The Commission was in agreement on a Department policy to open enrollment to non - residents in the Tots Recreation Program on a first -come, first- served basis two weeks following each session's two -week advance registration period. At all times the program age requirement must be met. 7. Director Kobett will present Department policies on recreation leader's uniform, pay rate and recruitment to the Parks and Re- creation Commission at their next regular meeting on January 17, 1973. • • 8. Commissioner Villar moved to adjourn to the next regular meeting on Wednesday, January 17, 1973, in the Council Chambers at 7:30 p.m., Commissioner Harrington seconded, motion carried. Chairman Greenberg adjourned the meeting at 10 :20 p.m. ATTEST: City Clerk
