SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Our contract with Williams Law, for City Prosecutor services, is up 1/1/13. Williams Law has submitted a memo to extend the contract for another year, with a 25% increase in fees.
Chief Summers and the City Manager have discussed the contract with one other potential firm. January will bring a new County Prosecutor to office, and Council may wish to explore
contracting with him. Staff requests that Council give direction regarding the City Prosecutor Services.
The current City Prosecuting Agreement and Matt Williams’ proposal for 2013 are attached.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Council advice for moving forward with a new Prosecutor contract.
