SUMMARY STATEMENT:
McCall has been recognized as a Tree City USA by the National Arbor Day Foundation for eleven years. To be re-certified, McCall is required to demonstrate that it complies with the
standards for certification, which include having:
1) A tree board or department;
2) An annual tree budget of at least $2.00 per capita;
3) A tree ordinance;
4) An Arbor Day observance and proclamation.
The City McCall complied with all four standards in 2012. In addition, McCall participated in other activities which qualify for a Growth Award, which is awarded to communities that
go above and beyond the basic standards.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve submission of the 2012 Tree City USA Re-Certification and Growth Award Applications, and authorize the Mayor to sign all necessary documents.
