SUMMARY STATEMENT:
On September 23, 2011 Public Works presented to their employees the adopted Public Works Policy & Safety Manual. The need for this manual was based upon two issues. The first issue being
the City of McCall Personnel Policy Manual does not address administrative issues specific to Public Works such as 1) Uniforms, 2) Pets, and 3) Smoking. The second issue being the City’s
Personnel Policy Manual does not address any safety issue specific to Public Works such as 1) cell phone use, and 2) use of IPOD’s and mp3’s. This year will be spent developing a more
comprehensive safety manual for Public Works.
On page 5 of the City of McCall Personnel Policy Manual I.A each employee is told that “Additionally you may work in a department with operational policies/practices that provide additional
direction to employees on unique department expectations and procedures. The City of McCall Public Works Policy & Safety Manual provides the additional direction our employees need.
