The project will be funding by an FAA Airport Improvement Project (AIP) Grant. The approved Environmental Assessment for the project included the acquisition of 16.97 acres of land. The FAA is willing to consider funding for the acquisition of additional ‘development land,’ for future Airport expansion. The attached Agreement will authorize T-O Engineers to revise the Environmental Assessment to include the ‘development land,’ appraise the property to be considered for purchase, negotiate with the land owners, and administer grant activities with the FAA. The full scope of work is described in Exhibit A of the attached Agreement. The FAA has agreed that the scope of work outlined is acceptable. The FAA usually advises airports that it is normally an 18 month process from the beginning of land acquisition until the conclusion. Additional updates will be provided to Council as the project progresses, and additional Council action will be required before any land purchases are completed. RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve the Professional Services Agreement with T-O Engineers and authorize the Mayor to sign all necessary documents. RECORD OF COUNCIL ACTION MEETING DATE ACTION November 17, 2011 AB11-205: Council received an update on the land acquisition process
