SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The Idaho Transportation Department Division of Aeronautics is authorized to issue grants to assist airports with capital projects, including matching Federal Aviation Administration
(FAA) Airport Improvement Program (AIP) grants. They provide up to 2.5% of the total AIP grant, and the City provides 2.5%. The total for the previously accepted FAA Grant 3-16-0023-020
is $445,803, for the construction of the snow removal equipment storage building. The 2.5% match equals $11,732.
The State of Idaho’s fiscal year runs from July 1 to June 30 and the federal fiscal year runs from October 1 through September 1. Therefore, the State grants typically cover grants issued
by FAA in the summer of the fiscal year the grant is issued. The FAA grant was issued in July 2011, giving time within the State fiscal year to offer a grant in March 2012.
Resolution 12-07, accepting the grant, and the Grant Agreement between the City and the Division of Aeronautics are attached.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Read Resolution 12-07 in full.
Adopt Resolution 12-07 accepting the Grant Offer in the amount of $11,732.
Approve the Grant Agreement with the Division of Aeronautics, and authorize the Mayor to sign all necessary documents.
