Home My Public Portal About20110915 BB work sessionCOUNCIL WORK SESSION, SEPTEMBER 15, 2011 1 CALL TO ORDER The September 15, 2011, City Council "Brown Bagel" Meeting was convened at 7:30 A.M. by President Pro Tempore Dave Griffith in the absence of *Mayor Eric Struemph. ATTENDANCE The following Council Members were present: Present: Carroll (arrived at 7:37 A.M.), Griffith, Harvey, Koon, Luebbert, Pope (arrived at 7:34 A.M.), Schulte, and Weber Absent: Bray and Scrivner A quorum was present. DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS *Mayor Eric Struemph arrived at this point in the meeting and assumed the Chair (7:33 A.M.). Bills: 2011 -75 and 2011 -76 (Peckham and Wright Contracts) - Discussion was held whether to rebid or re- interview the proposers. Councilman Mike Harvey stated he plans to withdraw Bill 2011 -76 on Monday night to allow for that. President Pro Tempore Dave Griffith assumed the Chair at this point as Mayor Eric Struemph recused himself from Bill 2011 -60. 2011 -60 (Excel Contract for lighting upgrade) - Councilman Bob Weber explained his reasons for the substitute bill which changes the contractor from Excel (the low bidder) to Van Loo (the second low bidder) as Van Loo is a local company. At the conclusion of discussion of bill 2011 -60, Mayor Eric Struemph assumed the Chair. 2011 -55 (Contract with Ken Kauffman and Sons - on Informal Calendar) - Staff stated that COUNCIL WORK SESSION, SEPTEMBER 15, 2011 2 there has been no further developments on the associated issues and requested that the Council leave this on the Informal Calendar on Monday night. 2011 -57 (Adoption of 2011 -2012 budget) - Councilman Rich Koon stated he plans to leave this on the Informal Calendar as several Council Members have indicated they have further amendments to propose. He asked that all amendments be sent to Steve Schlueter so they can be distributed to the Council in plenty of time for them to consider them before they vote on this at the October 3 Council meeting. He stated if it becomes necessary, he may schedule another Budget Committee meeting. ADJOURN MENT The meeting adjourned at 8:05 A.M.
