SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The Local Option Tax (LOT) Commission received 44 applications for LOT funding. After submission, three applicants withdrew (13-05 Public Works-ADA Streets Improvements, 13-09 Tennis-Gate
& Amenities and 13-13 Library-Shelving), and one reduced their requested amount (13-26 Golf Club House Exterior) from $9,000 to $7,000. The total amount of funding requested after these
changes is $704,206.78. The total amount of anticipated revenue is $225,000.
The Council met with the LOT Commission in a work session on April 26 to provide general direction to the Commission regarding priorities for FY13 LOT funding.
The Local Option Tax Commission received presentations from applicants on April 30 and May 2, 2012. They began deliberations on May 2, and will review recommendations after this work
session with City Council. The Commission’s final recommendations will be presented to the Council during the Council budget work session on June 1, 2012.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Provide direction to the Local Option Tax Commission and staff.
