SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Staff is pursuing the implementation of a formal social media policy and desires input and direction from the Council. Attached are several documents:

Staff requests the Council’s permission to formally establish a social media presence for the City, on a variety of social media sites and for a number of purposes.
If the Council allows staff to formally establish a social media presence, a Social Media Policy will be finalized. The City Manager will approve and implement the Social Media Policy,
in much the same way that other administrative procedures are approved and implemented. The attached draft Social Media Policy will be approved, with minor changes based on the Council’s
input and further staff review.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Allow staff to formally establish a social media presence for the City of McCall, and provide guidance to staff regarding the use of social media.

Council approved a test of Social Media for the Parks and Recreation Department
