HomeMy Public PortalAbout20111013 BB work sessionCOUNCIL WORK SESSION, OCTOBER 13, 2011 1 CALL TO ORDER The October 13, 2011, City Council "Brown Bagel" Meeting was convened at 7:33 A.M. by President Pro Tempore Dave Griffith as Mayor Eric Struemph stated he will be absent on Monday night and Councilman Griffith will need to preside at that meeting. ATTENDANCE The following Council Members were present when the meeting convened: Present: Bray, Griffith, Luebbert, Schulte, and Weber Absent: Harvey, Koon, Pope Arrived after meeting was convened: Carroll (7:39 A.M.) and Scrivner (7:40 A.M.) A quorum was not present until 7:39 when Councilwoman Carrie Carroll arrived. DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS General discussion was held until a quorum was present. After a quorum was present, the following agenda items were discussed: Bills Introduced: 2011 -88 (downtown "loft" resident parking) Councilman Ralph Bray stated he is going to have several questions about this issue on Monday night. 2011 -89 (Economic Development sales tax) Councilman Bill Luebbert asked to see a statement of how much involvement this will require by the City. Councilwoman Carrie Carroll and Councilman Bob Weber asked to have their names placed on the bill as a Co- Sponsor. Councilman Bob Scrivner stated he would also like to receive information about what is allowed or disallowed regarding promoting the issue. COUNCIL WORK SESSION, OCTOBER 13, 2011 2 2011 -96 (vacating right of way on Spruce Street) Interim City Administrator Nathan Nickolaus stated there has been a request for the sponsor to suspend the rules on this issue so it can be expedited for the property owner. Resolutions: R52011 -29 (Property Insurance Coverage) Councilman Bob Weber stated he would like a copy of the statement of values of the property insured by the City. General: Mayor Eric Struemph commended Interim City Administrator Nathan Nickolaus and Interim City Counselor Drew Hilpert on their work on the Transformation projects. Councilwoman Carrie Carroll asked if the Fire Department could make information available regarding the open burning season. ADJOURN MENT The meeting adjourned at 8:05 A.M.
