My older son Malik who's recently just started on his 7i1 grade at Oak Avenue Intermediate School in August of this year. Every day I drive my kids to and pick them up from school by going north on Baldwin Ave and left tum on Camino Real, and left turn on Oak Ave. On September 6",1 have a doctor appointment in the morning located at 8729 Valley Blvd. Unit A, Rosemead. After I finished with my checkup, I started east from Valley Blvd to Rosemead Blvd and make a left turn, then going north to Emperor Ave and make a right tum, then left turn on Oak Ave., and then I slow down on right side of the road because this is my first time taking this new route and unfamiliar of the road. At the same time, I am looking for parking signs so that 1 can park my car and wait for my son off school. Then, I saw there is a sign that states, "No parking on Thursdays." i thought to myself that today is Wednesday, so it's ok to park. Then I parked my car close to the curb, it is a extremely hot day and the temperature was above 100 degrees, so I used my clothes to cover my driver side window to block the sunlight while sitting inside the car and wait for my son to get off school. About 10 minutes later, I saw a female officer standing near my window, and told me parking is prohibited and give me a citation ticket. I showed her the sign in front of me that says no parking on Thursday, I was confused why she told me that I can't park there because today is Wednesday. The officer pointed out behind me says that there is another sign that says no parking. I followed her direction and saw about two houses down, there is another sign. But the distance to the sign from my car's position is far, and I cannot read clearly the words on the sign. Additionally, due to the position of the sign that is rear -facing me, the words are on the other side of the sign that is facing opposite of my direction. After I walked over to the sign, I finally see that it states "No parking 2pm to 3:30pm."
