RESOLUTION NO.2016-14
RESOLUTION INITIATING CONCURRENT DETACHMENT AND ANNEXATION
OF LAND FROM THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH TO THE CITY OF MEDINA
WHEREAS, the city of Medina (the "City") is a municipal corporation, organized and
existing under the laws of Minnesota; and
WHEREAS, the City of Medina and City of Plymouth desire to adjust the boundary
between the two cities located south of State Highway 55 and north of the Soo Line Railroad as
depicted on Exhibit A attached hereto and as legal described below; and
WHEREAS, the municipal boundary line adjustment will facilitate the development of the
parcel subject to the adjustment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the city council of the city of Medina,
Minnesota as follows:
1. Pursuant to Minn. Stat. § 414.061 Subd. 1 (1), the City of Medina desires that the
following described property be concurrently detached from the City of Plymouth
and annexed to the City of Medina:
That part of the Northwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Section ?, Township 118,
Range 22, described as follows to -wit: Commencing* at the intersection of the West line of
said Section 7 and thQ North line ofthc Right of Way oft the Minneapolis, St. Paul, and
Sault Ste. Marie Railway Company, thence North along the said West line of said Section 7
to the South line of State Trunk Higinvay No. 55, thence Southeasterly along the South line
of said State Trunk Highway 'No. 55 to the North line of said Right of Wray of said
Minneapolis, St. Paul and Sault Sty. Marie Railway Company; thence West along the said
North line of said Minneapolis_ St. Paul and Sault Ste, Marie Railway Company to place of
beginning.
2. The city administrator or his designee is authorized and directed to submit this
resolution concurrently with a resolution from the City of Plymouth to the Chief
Administrative Law Judge of the State Office of Administrative hearings for
approval pursuant to Minn. Stat. § 414.061 Subd. 2.

and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:
