BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING
WEDNESDAY MARCH 20, 2019 AT 7: OOPM
TOWN HALL, ROOM B
Board members present: Carmen Scherzo, DVM , Chairman ; Annette Graczewski , MT (ASCP) , Vice Chairman ; Penny
Hausser Holeman , MPH , MA, MS and Nancy Leach , PharmD
Board members absent: Joe Ford
Others present: Sherrie McCullough , Assistant Health Director and Tammi Mason , Senior Department Assistant
1 . Chairman's announcement
Happy spring .
Massachusetts Substance Abuse helpline number is 800-327-5050 . All calls are confidential .
Dr. Scherzo stated that he, Nancy Ellis Ice , Sherrie McCullough and Police Chief Eldredge met to discuss enforcement of
the Board of Health regulations . Chief Eldredge stated that while they could issues tickets , collecting the fines would have
to be done by the Board of Health . He suggested that if the Board wanted better enforcement, they should go with a Town
bylaw. Both Mrs . Ice and Dr. Scherzo thought enforcement was working well as it was .
Rabies Vaccination clinics will be held on April 6, 2019 at the Dennis Veterinary Hospital and the Animal Hospital of
Orleans . Cost for a 1 year rabies shot is $ 10 .
2 . Brewster Coffee Shop - Food Establishment permit application (new manager) continued from 316119
Nicholas Caplice presented . New manager. Went over his background and experience. He has all the items that the
Assistant Health Director requested from him .
Mrs . Graczewski spoke about the grease trap being cleaned . Mr. Caplice will put it on the too do list.
Motion : Approve the Food Establishment permit application with the condition that all recommendations from the Assistant
Health Director be met and the grease trap be inspected and cleaned before the permit is issued .
Motion : Annette Graczewski Second : Penny Hausser Holeman Vote: 4-0-0 Action : Motion carried
3 . Discuss email from Laura Kelley (POCCA) re: Eversource (YOP)
Discussion on the letter to Director of Right of Ways stating the Board 's opposition to the spraying .
Motion : Submit this letter to the Director.
Motion : Annette Graczewski Second : Penny Hausser Holeman Vote: 4-0- 0 Action : Motion carried
Also send a copy of the letter to the Association to Preserve CC , POCCA and State Representatives .
4 . Discuss sending a letter to SWWTF's re: flushable wipes
Dr. Scherzo stated that he wants a cover letter to go with the educational information .
Have Nancy get in touch with David Bennett with regards to educational material and formulating a cover letter.

5. Nominate Animal Inspectors
Motion: Appoint Sherrie McCullough and Lynda Brogden Burns as Animal Inspectors ( noting that Sherrie McCullough is
the barn inspector only) ,
Motion: Annette Graczewski Second: Nancy Leach Vote: 4-0-0 Action: Motion carried
