Home My Public Portal About20120412 BB work sessionCOUNCIL WORK SESSION, APRIL 12, 2012 1 CALL TO ORDER The April 12, 2012, City Council "Brown Bagel" Meeting was convened at 7:33 A.M. by Mayor Eric Struemph. ATTENDANCE The following Council Members were present when the meeting convened: Present: Bray, Koon, Luebbert, Pope, Schulte, Scrivner, and Weber Absent: Carroll and Harvey Also present: Newly- elected Council Members Henry, Mihalevich, and Prather A quorum was present. DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS FIRST MEETING - CURRENT COUNCIL: 2011 -172 (Grant for Air Traffic Control Services) - Questions were asked regarding the account for the grant funds received. Two - Meeting Format - City Administrator Nathan Nickolaus explained the procedure for adjourning Sine Die and starting the second Council Meeting with the newly - elected Council Members. Seating Arrangements - Discussion was held regarding seating of the Council Members in the Council Chambers. At the conclusion of the discussion, the Council directed staff to make arrangements for seating by seniority rather than by ward. SECOND MEETING - NEW COUNCIL: New Council Members - Mayor Eric Struemph introduced the three new Council Members, Larry Henry, Rick Mihalevich, and Rick Prather, who were present to participate in the COUNCIL WORK SESSION, APRIL 12, 2012 2 discussion of second - meeting items. Appointments - Mayor Eric Struemph announced that appointments will be made Monday night and asked the following persons to convene each respective meeting for the purpose of electing officers for the 2012 -2013 Council year: Councilwoman Carrie Carroll - Administration Committee Councilman Bob Scrivner - Annexation Committee Councilman Shawn Schulte - Finance Committee Councilman Bryan Pope - Public Safety Committee Councilman Bob Scrivner - Public Works & Planning Committee Town Hall Meetings - City Administrator Nathan Nickolaus announced the three Town Hall Meetings, and Mayor Eric Struemph explained in more detail how the meetings would be structured and what information he hoped the City would be able to glean from those meetings. ADJOURNMENT The meeting adjourned at 8:00 A.M.
