1. CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Chavez called the Las Tunas Downtown Revitalization Standing Committee meeting to
order at 9:32 a.m.
2. ROLL CALL
PRESENT: Councilmember – Chavez and Yu
ABSENT: Councilmember – None
ALSO PRESENT: City Manager Bryan Cook, Community Development Director
Michael Forbes, Assistant to the City Manager Brian Haworth, City
Engineer Ali Cayir, Management Analyst Andrew Coyne, Executive
Assistant to the City Manager Giselle Corella
3. PUBLIC COMMENTS – None
4. CONSENT CALENDAR
A. Approval of Minutes
The minutes of the October 23, 2015, Standing Committee meeting were approved.
5. NEW BUSINESS
A. Discussion on the Las Tunas Project
City Manager Cook, Director Forbes, and Assistant to the City Manager Haworth provided
an update on the staff and consultant work being done in preparation for the upcoming
meeting with the full City Council, including visuals and public outreach. Possible meeting
locations and logistics were discussed. The Standing Committee discussed the
possibility of a test run of the options (e.g. closing lanes using cones, barricades, etc.) to
evaluate traffic impacts before committing to an option, but believed that a test run would
not necessarily provide an accurate reflection of the real impacts.
