Living with Coyotes
Background
•SGVCOG created the Coyote Management Task Force to address increasing concerns of human-coyote contact throughout the San Gabriel Valley
•In July, the task force developed a Coyote Management Implementation Plan.
Coyote Management Plan
•SGVCOG will be responsible for:
Coordinating community meetings
Hosting workshops and conflict trainings
Conducting youth outreach and education programs for schools
Sending mailers to neighborhoods with high coyote encounters
Managing an online regional coyote reporting hotline
Coordinating with other agencies on coyote management efforts
Coyote Management Plan continued…
•Two year term length (November 1, 2019-October 31, 2021)
•$20,000 for two years
1st payment of $10,000 due upon execution of agreement
2nd payment of $10,000 due July 1, 2020
•The city will be expected to participate in conference calls and meetings about the implementation of the plan, provide meeting space for events, and assist with outreach efforts
