MINUTES OF THE COUNCIL "BROWN BAGEL" WORK SESSION
JUNE 28, 2012
CALL TO ORDER
The June 28, 2012, City Council "Brown Bagel" Meeting was convened at 7:34
A.M. by Mayor Eric Struemph.
ATTENDANCE
The following Council Members were present when the meeting convened:
Present: Bray, Carroll, Henry, Luebbert, Prather, Schulte, Scrivner,
and Weber
Absent: Mihalevich and Pope ( *arrived at 7:35 A.M.)
A quorum was present.
DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS
Council Committee Reports — Councilman Larry Henry stated he will be
making a liaison report on the Environmental Quality Commission meeting.
*Councilman Bryan Pope arrived at 7:35 A.M.
Consent Agenda — Councilman Bob Scrivner stated that he believed it would be
better if all agreements with the City expire concurrently with the City's budget
year.
2012 -38 (Deleting Sunset Provision on Temporary Outdoor Consumption
Permits) — Councilman Bryan Pope asked if the City wanted to address the
issue of public safety because of the additional staff needed for these festivals.
Mayor Struemph asked how this could be addressed. Councilwoman Carroll
stated since there are several other events, parades, etc., they should also be
included in such a discussion instead of just those in the downtown business
district. Mayor Struemph directed City Administrator Nathan Nickolaus to look
into it. Mr. Nickolaus suggested that the issue might first go before the Public
Safety Committee as they are charged with issues involving public safety.
