REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
OCTOBER 9, 2019
1. CALL TO ORDER
Vice Chairman Stoll called the Transportation and Public Safety Commission
Meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.
2. ROLL CALL
PRESENT: Commissioner—Catalan, Palmieri, Xu, Stoll
ABSENT: Commissioner — None
EXCUSED: Commissioner —Nimri
ALSO PRESENT: Public Safety Supervisor Ariizumi, Secretary Monroy and
Deputy Chen.
Vice Chairman Stoll made a motion to excuse Chairman Nimri for cause,
seconded by Commissioner Catalan and unanimously carried.
3. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Vice Chairman Stoll led those present in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
4. PUBLIC COMMENTS ON ITEMS NOT LISTED ON THE AGENDA
Vice Chairman Stoll closed public comments.
5. CONSENT CALENDAR
A. APPROVAL OF MINUTES — REGULAR MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 11,
2019.
Commissioner Catalan made a motion to approve the consent calendar,
seconded by Commissioner Palmieri and unanimously carried.

Vice Chairman Stoll made a motion to close public comments, seconded by
Commissioner Palmieri and unanimously carried.
11. MATTERS FROM CITY OFFICIALS
Public Safety Supervisor Ariizumi announced that preparations are underway for
the City's Annual "Light's on Temple City Parade", which is held the 19t Friday of
December. Street closures and detour information to follow.
12. COMMISSION ITEMS SEPARATE FROM THE REGULAR AGENDA
A. COMMISSIONER CATALAN
Announced that the 2019 Neighborhood Watch Program will be coming to
an end as the final meeting approaches. An event to thank Area Watch
Leaders, Deputies Lam, Chico, Zuniga, and Sergeant Miranda, will be
held on October 15th, 2019, to recognize their hard work and efforts.

D. VICE CHAIRMAN STOLL
Announced the final Area Watch Meeting, No. 10, scheduled for October
17th, 2019, at Cleminson Elementary School, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. The
meeting will cover the areas of EI Monte Avenue and Santa Anita Avenue,
west to east, Live Oak Avenue and Lower Azusa Road, north to south.
Topics include, how to handle active shooter situations, residential
burglaries, how to stop bleeding and will offer volunteer opportunities.
Next year's program will cover all new topics, one of those being coyote
abatement.

The Transportation and Public Safety Commission Meeting was adjourned at
8:16 p.m.
