OPERATIONS Multi-Location Search Warrant Temple City, Rosemead and South El Monte SATs assisted Department of Justice (DOJ) with a multi-location search warrant Investigation involved suspected illegal business practices SATs executed the search warrant and rendered the locations safe for State Investigators Several person were detained and investigation was handled by DOJ investigators 4 6.B. OPERATIONS Burglary Suppression Operations Number of operations – 18 Evening Operations - 18 Undercover Operations – 0 Number of arrests – 3 Number of cites – 0 Number of contacts/F.I. – 5 Increased operations due to crime trends increasing during the holiday season Team members adjusted schedules to work daytime and evening operations based on crime trends Generally patrolled in one-man cars for high visibility LASD Volunteers on Patrol (VOP) patrolled the city 5 6.B. OPERATIONS Narcotics Investigation & Search Warrant Temple City SAT assisted LASD Narcotics Bureau with the investigation and search warrant Narcotics detectives received a tip of a location possibly selling narcotics Narcotics detectives and Temple City SAT confirmed narcotics were being sold from the location Narcotics Bureau executed the search warrant with the assistance of the Temple City SAT (outer containment) Evidence of narcotics sales was recovered at the location, but the suspect was not present at the location Suspect has a long history of narcotics use and sales of narcotics and has been arrested four times in the past See Notable Arrest #1 6 6.C. NOTABLE ARREST Arrest #1 (Narcotics Sales) Why is it notable? Suspect has been using and selling narcotics for several years Suspect taking advantage of current narcotics laws Does not have to post bail or bond Booked and released with a citation Suspect was not home at the time of the search warrant Suspect refused to turn himself in Approximately one week later, Dep. Lam observed the suspect walking nonchalantly down the street Dep. Lam requested back-up, when Dep. Chico arrived, they placed the suspect under arrest Arrested for? Sales of Narcotics 8 6.E.
