SUBJECT: ACCEPTANCE OF WORK FOR THE TEMPLE CITY PARK PERFORMING ARTS PAVILION ROOFING PROJECT AND AUTHORIZATION TO FILE THE NOTICE OF COMPLETION RECOMMENDATION: The City Council is requested to : 1. Accept the work performed by Rite-Way Roof Corporation (Ri te-Way) on CIP No . P19 -04 , entitled ''Temple City Perform ing Arts Pavilion Roofing Project" (Project); 2 . Authorize the City Clerk to file the Notice of Completion for recordation with the County of Los Angel es Registrar-Recorder; and 3 . Release the 5 % retention payment 30 days after recordation . BACKGROUND: 1. On September 9 , 2019 , the Parks & Recre ation Department (Department) released a Noti ce Inviting Bid (NIB) for the installation of a new roof on the Performing Arts Pavilion at Temple City Park . 2 . On October 3, 2019 , a total of three sealed bids were received and publicly opened . Rite-Way was the low b idder at $27 ,130. 3 . On November 19 , 2019 , the City Council awarded a public works contract in the amount of $27 ,130 to Rite-Way for the Project. ANALYSIS: Rite-Way has successfully completed the Project , which consisted of the replacement of roof on the Performing Arts Pavilion at Temple City Park. The work was performed in accordance with the scope of work and other contract documents to the satisfaction of '------------------------------- City Council February 18 , 2020 Page 2 of 2 the Parks & Recreation Department and Public Works Division . CITY STRATEGIC GOALS: Approval of this item will further the City's Strategic Goals of Good Governance and Public Health and Safety. FISCAL IMPACT: The Project was completed with i n the project budget for a total cost of $27 ,130 , and was funded out of the Parks Acquisition Fund .
