SUBJECT: PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION ACTIONS -REGULAR
MEETING OF FEBRUARY 19, 2020
RECOMMENDATION:
The City Council is requested to receive and file the Parks and Recreation Commission
(Commission) actions from their regular meeting of February 19 , 2020.
BACKGROUND:
On February 19 , 2020, the Commission he ld their regularly scheduled meeting .

The Commission approved the regular minutes of the January 15 , 2020 and the
special minutes of the January 15, 2020 , meetings and received and filed the
Monthly Report for January 2020 .

3. NEW BUSINESS
A. REVIEW OF TRANSPORATION SERVICES AVAILABLE TO TEMPLE CITY
RES IDENTS
The Commission received and filed a verbal presentation of the City's Dial-A-
Ride transportation program available to Temple City residents provided by
Southland Transit , Inc. The Commission expressed that they would like to
explore expanding the radius area for medical appointments and to provide
transportation to Big Lots located at 610 Las Tunas Drive in the City of Arcadia.
4. COMMUNICATIONS
A . The Commission received a verba l presentation regarding recent renovations
to Live Oak Park and Temple City Park. Recent renovations include annual
turf renovations and irrigation repair at Live Oak Park , resurfacing the walking
path at Live Oak Park , updated l ighting at the Live Oak Park Basketball Courts ,
and roof replacement at the Performing Arts Pavilion at Temple City Park.
5. UPDATE FROM PARKS & RECREAT ION DIRECTOR
A. The Commission received the Parks and Recreation Director's Report for the
month of January 2020.
CITY STRATEGIC GOALS:
Reviewing the Commission actions of February 19 , 2020 , furthers the City's Strategic
Goal of Citizen Education and Communication.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This item does not have an impact on the Fiscal Year (FY) 2019-20 City Budget.
