SPECIAL EMERGENCY MEETING MINUTES
MARCH 13, 2020
1. CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Chavez called the City Council Special Emergency Meeting to order at 4:30
p.m. in the Council Chambers located at 5938 Kauffman Avenue, Temple City.
2.ROLL CALL
PRESENT:Councilmember – Fish, Man, Sternquist, Yu, Chavez
ABSENT:Councilmember – None
ALSO PRESENT:City Manager Cook, City Attorney Murphy, Deputy City Clerk
Nunez
3. PUBLIC COMMENTS
Peter Choi, President of Temple City Chamber of Commerce, commented on the
procedures that Chamber of Commerce has in place in combatting the Coronavirus
and ensuring that members of the public are safe.
4.NEW BUSINESS
A.ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION NO. 20-5457 PROCLAIMING EXISTENCE OF A
LOCAL EMERGENCY REGARDING NOVEL CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19)
The City Council is requested to adopt Resolution No. 20-5457 proclaiming existence
of a local emergency regarding Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).
City Manager Cook and City Attorney Murphy gave a brief overview of the staff
report, explained what will happen should the City proclaim a local emergency,
and discussed the Executive Order N-25-20 pertaining to the Brown Act
provisions that have been waived.
Parks and Recreation Director Matsumoto reported that all programming and
outside organization meetings that occur at Live Oak Park has been suspended.
He also reported that the Senior Lunch program will be cancelled and food will be
provided only for pick-up to seniors in the community.
City Council commented and asked questions.

Mayor Pro Tem Yu made a motion to adopt Resolution No. 20-5457 proclaiming
existence of a local emergency regarding Novel Coronavirus. Seconded by
Councilmember Fish.
5. ADJOURNMENT
The City Council Regular Meeting was adjourned at 5:32 p.m.
