CALL TO ORDER
The April 1, 2011, City Council "Brown Bag" Meeting was convened at 12:09 P.M. by Mayor
John Landwehr.
ATTENDANCE
The following Council Members were present:
Present: Carroll, Griffith, Koon, Medin, Penfold, Pope, Scrivner, Struemph, and
Weber
Absent: Harvey
DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS
Bids Over $25,000:
Bid 2536 (parking garage software and hardware) - Mayor John Landwehr asked if staff
could give a brief description of this on Monday night as it will provide the public with some
convenient features not available in the past.
Bid 2530 (one ton truck for Fire Department) - Mayor Landwehr asked Finance Director
Steve Schlueter to explain the selection of this bid on Monday night.
Bills:
2010 -122 (special events permits) - Councilman Bob Scrivner stated that he understands
this is a temporary, test - period ordinance, but if it were being brought forward as a
permanent ordinance, he would have some problems with it. Lengthy discussion was held
on this bill.
2010 -123 (abandoned buildings registration) - City Counselor Nathan Nickolaus stated that
he has received information from local realtors indicating their opposition to this.
Presentations from Invited Guests:
Mayor John Landwehr suggested that Parks & Recreation Director Bill Lockwood make
announcements on Monday night regarding events surrounding the opening of the
pedestrian / bicycle trail over the Missouri River slated to open on April 8.
