1. C ALL TO ORDER
Mayor Chavez called the City Council Special Meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
telephonically.
2. ROLL C ALL
PRESENT: Councilmember – Man, Sternquist, Yu, Chavez
ABSENT: Councilmember - None
ALSO PRESENT: City Manager Cook, City Attorney Murphy, City Clerk Kuo,
Deputy City Clerk Nunez, and Administrative Assistant to the
City Council and City Manager
3. PUBLIC COMMENT
Cynthia Vance, Paulianne Werthwein, and Robert Hepler, Temple City residents,
emailed public comments, read into record by City Clerk Kuo, in support of appointing
Fernando Vizcarra to Council.
4. NEW BUSINESS
A. FURTHER ACTION ON APPOINTMENT TO COUNCIL
City Council will continue the appointment process to fill the vacant Councilmember
seat.
Mayor Chavez invited the nominees to each give a brief self-introduction.
City Council asked each of the nominee questions after their introduction.
City Council made comments regarding each nominees.
Mayor Pro Tem Yu made a motion to appoint Fernando Vizcarra to fill the vacant
Councilmember seat. Seconded by Councilmember Sternquist and approved by the
following votes:
AYES: Councilmember – Man, Sternquist, Yu
NOES: Councilmember – Chavez
ABSENT: Councilmember – None
ABSTAINED: Councilmember – None

Mayor Pro Tem Yu made a motion to adopt Resolution No. 20-5471 ratifying the
appointment of Mr. Fernando Vizcarra to Council. Seconded by Councilmember
Sternquist and approved by the following votes:
AYES: Councilmember – Man, Sternquist, Yu
NOES: Councilmember – Chavez
ABSENT: Councilmember – None
ABSTAINED: Councilmember – None
5. ADJOURNMENT
The City Council Special Meeting was adjourned at 7:22 p.m.
