SUBJECT: PLANNING COMMISSION ACTIONS - MEETING OF APRIL 28, 2020
RECOMMENDATION:
The City Council is requested to receive and file the Planning Commission
(Commission) actions from their meeting of April 28, 2020.
BACKGROUND:
On April 28, 2020, the Commission held their regularly scheduled meeting.
ANALYSIS:
The following is a summary of actions taken at the April 28, 2020 meeting:
1. ROLL CALL:
Present: Commissioner - Cordes, Guan, O’Leary, Haddad, Lee
Absent: Commissioner - None
Excused: Commissioner - None
2. CONSENT CALENDAR
The Commission approved the minutes from their regular meeting of March 10,
2020.

3. PUBLIC HEARING
A. PL 20-2341: CITYWIDE
DESCRIPTION: Zoning Code Text Amendment. The proposed ordinance
would amend the Temple City Municipal Code relating to various zoning
definitions and development standards.
ACTION: The Commission voted 5-0 to approve file PL 19-2341, and
adopted the resolution recommending that the City Council find the project
categorially exempt from CEQA, and adopt the proposed ordinance with the
modification made by staff.
B. PL 20-2362: CITYWIDE
DESCRIPTION: Zoning Code Text Amendment. The proposed ordinance
would establish development standards for accessory dwelling units and junior
accessory dwelling units.
ACTION: The Commission moved file PL 19-2362 to a later date.
4. UNFINISHED BUSINESS – None
5. NEW BUSINESS – None
6. COMMUNICATIONS – None
7. UPDATE FROM THE PLANNING MANAGER
Mr. Reimers, Interim Community Development Director, gave an overview of
activities during “Safer at Home Order”. He said that we are providing planning and
building services online.
8. ADJOURNMENT
The Commission meeting was adjourned at 8:54 p.m.
CITY STRATEGIC GOALS:
Reviewing the Commission actions of April 28, 2020, furthers the City’s Strategic Goals
of Citizen Education and Communication.

FISCAL IMPACT:
This item does not have an impact on the Fiscal Year 2019-20 City Budget.
