BUDGET STUDY MINUTES
JUNE 9, 2020
1. CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Chavez called the City Council Regular Meeting to order at 6:37 p.m.
telephonically.
2.ROLL CALL
PRESENT:Councilmember – Man, Vizcarra, Yu, Chavez
ABSENT:Councilmember - Sternquist
ALSO PRESENT:City Manager Cook, City Clerk Kuo, Deputy City Clerk Nunez,
Assistant to the City Manager Haworth, Administrative Assistant to
the City Manager/City Council Flores, Administrative Services
Director Paragas, Interim Community Development Director
Reimers, Parks and Recreation Director Matsumoto, Parks and
Recreation Manager Lawson, Public Safety Supervisor Ariizumi,
and Accountant Ma
1.PUBLIC COMMENT
City Clerk Kuo read email from Jerry Jambazian, Temple City business owner,
commented about City’s vendors/contractors rate/fee increase.
4.NEW BUSINESS
A.FISCAL YEAR 2020 -2021 PROPOSED ANNUAL BUDGET
The Proposed Budget for Fiscal Year 2020 - 2021 focuses on creating a roadmap for
maintaining the financial stability of the community into the future while balancing
current needs.
City Manager Cook gave an overview of the City’s budget.
Administrative Services Director Paragas gave a summary of the staff report and
presentation of the proposed budget.
City Council made comments and asked questions regarding the proposed budget.
Mayor Chavez open public comment. Hearing no request to speak, Mayor Chavez
closed public comment.
City Council made final comments regarding the draft budget.

Staff received Council feedback on the draft budget and will provide follow up to
Council feedback an upcoming meeting.
5. ADJOURNMENT
The City Council Regular Meeting was adjourned at 8:20 p.m.
