TH E VILLA G E'S A BILITY TO FU ND AN D SUPPORT THE
PER M ITTIN G, DESIG N , CO N STR U C TION, AND
M O N ITO R IN G OF TH E VILLA G E'S BEACH
REN OU R ISH M EN T PR OJEC T; PR O V ID IN G FO R AN
EFFEC TIV E DA TE.
W H ER EA S, the Village of K ey Biscayne ("V illage") is the entity responsible for the
maintenance and preservation of the beach adjacent to the V illage that is the subject of the
Village's Beach Renour ishm ent Project (the "Project"); and
W H ER EA S, the Village recognizes the significant econom ic, recreational,
enviro nm ental, and shore pro tection value that beach renour ishment has pro vided since 1987
and continues to pro vide today; and
W H ER EA S, the Vill age supports the perm itting, design, construction, and monitoring
of the Project, which is located appro xim ately betw een Flor ida Departm ent of Environmental
Pro tection's M onum ents Rl0land R108 in M iam i-D ade County, Florida; and
W H ER EA S, the Village is w illing to serve as the local sponsor fo r the Project and
com m its to appro priating fu ll fu nding of the local share of a state approved project in its capital
im pro vem ent budget fo r the design and perm itting phase of the Project anticipated to begin in
Fiscal Year 2024/2025; and
W H ER EA S, the Village of K ey Biscayne Village Council has determ ined that the
Project and the adoption of this Resolution are in the best interest of the Village and its residents.

THE V ILLA G E OF KEY BISC A Y N E, FLO R ID A , A S FO LLO W S:
Section 1. Recitals. That each of the above-stated recitals are hereby adopted,
confirmed, and incorporated herein.
Section 2. Funding of Project. The Village confirms that it shall provide the balance
of any funding required for the permitting, design, construction, and monitoring of the Project that
is not funded by Miami-Dade County, FEMA, or by the State of Florida.
Section 3. Effective Date. That this Resolution shall be effective immediately upon
adoption.
