CALL TO ORDER
The Council "Pre- Meeting" Work Session of June 2, 2008, was convened at 5:45 P.M. by
Mayor John Landwehr.
ATTENDANCE
following Council Members were present:
Present: Carroll, Crane, Ferguson, Harvey, Klindt, Koon, Layton, Medin (arrived
at 5:48 P.M.), Penfold, and Smith
Absent: None
A quorum was present.
DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS
Bill 2008 -18 (Food Inspection Fees): Councilman Rich Koon asked if this item could be
moved up on the agenda tonight since several restaurant owners would be present at the
meeting. Following discussion, Councilman Kenneth Ferguson stated he would agree to place
the bill on the Informal Calendar to allow the Council more time to consider amendments which
were just distributed at the beginning of the pre- meeting. Mayor John Landwehr stated he
would announce that tonight, but emphasize that those persons asking to make presentations
from the gallery would still be welcome to make their presentation regardless of the status of
the bill.
Bills 2008 -21 and 2008 -22 (Weathered Rock Road vacation & PUD plan): Mayor John
Landwehr disclosed he has a conflict of interest in these two bills and would abstain from any
discussion, tie - breaking votes, or signing the bills. He will ask President Pro Tempore Kenneth
Ferguson to sign off on the bills if they pass.
Resolution RS2008 -8 (Concrete Products bid renewal): Councilman Dan Klindt disclosed
he will abstain on this resolution due to a conflict of interest.
2008 -16 (Contract with Concrete Engineering): Discussion was held regarding this issue,
and at the conclusion of the discussion, staff was asked by the Council to provide votes by
committees on issues before the Council is asked to vote on those same issues in Council
meetings.
