SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES
July 30, 2020
1. CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Chavez called the City Council Special Meeting to order at 5:02 p.m.
telephonically.
2. ROLL CALL
PRESENT: Councilmember – Man, Sternquist, Vizcarra, Chavez
ABSENT: Councilmember – Yu
ALSO PRESENT: City Manager Cook, Public Safety Supervisor Ariizumi
Captain Flores, Deputy Lam, Deputy Chico, and Deputy Bui
Mayor Chavez made a motion to excuse Mayor Pro Tem Yu for cause. Seconded by
Councilmember Man.

A. QUALITY OF LIFE
Deputy Lam gave an overview of the sex offender registrants, parolees, and
probationers in the City from May 1, 2020 to June 30, 2020.
B. OPERATIONS
Deputy Lam provided an update regarding arrests and operations in the City
from May 1, 2020 to June 30, 2020.
C. CRIME TRENDS
Deputy Lam provided an overview of crime trends in neighboring cities affecting
Temple City from May 1, 2020 to June 30, 2020.

Deputy Lam provided an overview of notable arrests made in the City from May
1, 2020 to June 30, 2020.
E. TRAFFIC ISSUES
Deputy Lam provided an overview of traffic issues in the City from May 1, 2020

F. CRIME AND TRAFFIC STATISTICS
Deputy Lam provided an overview of the crime and traffic statistics from May 1,
2020 to June 30, 2020.
G. SPECIAL ASSIGNMENT TEAM ACTIVITIES
Deputy Lam provided an update on the special assignment team activities.
Captain Flores introduced Deputy Bui recently assigned to the special
assignment team.
H. PUBLIC OUTREACH / EVENTS
Deputy Lam reported on the public outreach conducted by the special
assignment team.
I. UPCOMING EVENTS FOR AUGUST 2020
Deputy Lam announced upcoming meetings and events that will be conducted
in the City.
