Mayor Lindsay announcedthat the purpose of the meeting was for
the Commis ioners to canvasSthe March 1, 1960 election returns.
Mr. Hart moved that the seal on the ballot box be broken, the
ballot box be opened and the ballots counted, checked and verified.
Mr. Dodson seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.
J.R.Fountain announced that there were 85 reggistered voters on the
rolls, that 100 ballots were printed and that 7g ballots were cast.
The Canvaotng Board inspected each ballot and all were found to
be valid with the following results:

It was thereupon determined by the canvassing Board that the
following men were duly elected to serve as Commissioners for three
years beginning March 15, 1960E

John G. Hart
J.Phil Hoyle
Stewart B. Iglehart
L.Seton Lindsay
It was unanimously agreed th -t the next Commission Meeting would
be held on Tuesday, March 15, 1960 at 10:00 A.M. at Town Hall. This
Meeting to constitute the Regular Monthly Commission Meeting and the
Organizational Meeting to install the New Commissioners.
There being no futher business the Commissioners adjourned.

MAYOR'S PROCLAMATION
CALLING TOWN ELECTION TO BE HELD
MARCH 1, 1960
WHEREAS, the Town Charter, Chapter 27579,'Laws of Florida,
Acts of 1951, requires a town election to be held on the first
Tuesday in March, 1960, which is March 1. 1960; 'and
WHEREAS, it is the duty of the Town Commission to designate
a polling place and to appo4nt a clerk and inspectors of election
for the purpose of carrying on and ^onducting such election;
1. An election is hereby called to be held on Tuesday,
March 1, 1960, for the purpose of electing five town commissioners
who will hold office for a term of three years beginning the third
Tuesday in March, 1960.
2. The Town Commission designated the Town Hall of the Town
of Gulf Stream, Florida, as the polling place for the holding of
said election, andthereby appointed the following clerk and ins-
pectors:
Clerk: Dorotha Davis Bauer
Inspectors: Charles Turner
Florence Cramp
3. The election shall be held and the polling place shall
be open betweenrthe hours of 7:00 o'clock A.M. and 7:00 o'clock
P.M. Eastern Standard Time.
4. Only qualified, registered voters of the Town of Gulf
Stream will be allowed to vote in this election.
5. A copy of this proclamation shall be posted on the
Town Bulletin Board at least 10 days before the election.
Each person who has been selected for clerk or inspector
is expected to be on hand promply at the polling place above
named, on the day of the election and to serve.
