CALL TO ORDER

The September 2, 2008, "Pre- Meeting" Work Session was convened at 5:45 P.M. by Mayor
John Landwehr.
ATTENDANCE
The following Council Members were present:
Present: Carroll, Ferguson, Harvey, Klindt, Koon, Layton, Medin and Penfold,
and Randolph
Absent: Crane
A quorum was present.
DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS
Bids over $25,000 - Mayor John Landwehr asked if the parking vehicle bid had a deadline
which would prevent the Council from postponing this issue for two more weeks. He asked
City Administrator Steve Rasmussen to get with Community Development Director Pat
Sullivan to discuss it and have a report back to the Council.
Bills Pending:
2008 -46 (adoption of 2008 -2009 budget) Councilman Rich Koon stated he will place this
bill on the Informal Calendar tonight.
Election of Ward Three Council Member - Discussion was held regarding the time frame
for the election of the Ward Three Council Member who will fill the vacancy created by the
resignation of Councilman Brian Crane. Following the discussion, the Council agreed that
it would be a good idea to have a motion in the Regular meeting tonight which would
establish the time line for nominations and election of the new Council Member to allow
interested potential nominees, the public, and the media, plenty of time to consider and
publicize the issue.
