Subject: Maintenance of Traffic ( MOT) for the RIVAGE Ball Harbour, formerly
the Carlton Terrace -10245 Collins Avenue.
The purpose of this Letter to Council (LTC) is to provide you with information regarding
the delivery of equipment for the upcoming demolition of the Carlton Terrace building as
well as the Florida Power and Light (FPL) duct bank (excavation / conduits) project to be
installed in the roadway in front of the 10245 Collins Avenue property.
The delivery of the demolition equipment will take place this Saturday, May 20, 2023. The
FPL work will begin Monday, May 22, 2023
Below is a summary of each of these projects:
Demolition Ecuic-ment Deliver,
On Saturday, May 20, we anticipate the arrival of three (3) large trailers for unloading heavy
equipment for the Carlton Terrace Condominium demolition. One northbound lane will
be closed starting at The Tiffany, 10175 Collins Avenue and two northbound lanes will be
closed starting at the Bellini Condominium, 10225 Collins Avenue. The Maintenance of
Traffic (MOT) is attached for your review and is anticipated to be in place for the day of
Saturday, May 20, between 7:00 am - 12:00 pm.
There will be signage and display boards in place, as well as flaggers to assist with
temporary bus stops. Off -duty Police Officers will be assigned to this detail as well to assist
with traffic. Access will be available to enter/exit each building within the MOT. Access will
also be permitted onto Frontage Road during the entire period.
FPL Phase One
Phase one of this work is tentatively scheduled to begin on Monday May 22, 2023, with the
final completion including restoration planned for no later than June 09, 2023. This project
will provide the required power resources for the planned construction of the RIVAGE BaI
Harbour at the former Carlton Terrace property.
Daytime Hours, from Monday thru Friday from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm with NO WEEKEND
or HOLIDAY WORK taking place.
The initial 48 hours of project activities include the saw cutting and removal of the sidewalk,
curb, and gutter within the project area. Immediately after the sidewalk, curb, and gutter
removal, the excavation and installation of the power duct bank will be conducted. The
major portion of this work is expected to be completed within seven (7) working days with
site restoration to follow.
As detailed with the attached Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) MOT Plan, the
area will be delineated with jersey barriers and an alternate pedestrian path will be
established within the travel lane of Collins Avenue to allow for the continued passage of
vehicles and pedestrians. This location will be under the control of off -duty police officers
and flaggers during all hours of construction to facilitate the safe movement of vehicular
and pedestrian traffic.
Phase Two
Phase two of this project involves the installation of the power cables from the FPL manhole
within the street of the project limits to the NE corner of the 10245 Collins Avenue property.
This construction schedule will be transmitted when the information becomes available.
