HomeMy Public PortalAboutLTC 091-2023 PD Weekly Report Week 23- June 02 2023 through June 08 202306/07/2023 I Assist Other Agency/Battery I 9800 Collins Avenue Bal Harbour police officers responded to a disturbance and possible battery occurring inside a Miami Dade Transit Bus. The preliminary investigation revealed that the crime had been committed in Surfside jurisdiction. 06/07/2023 I Arrest Retail Theft I 9700 Collins Avenue Saks Fifth Avenue loss prevention personnel apprehended a female for shoplifting merchandise. Bal Harbour police officers responded and arrested the female for retail theft. The female was later transported to the Miami Dade County Jail for booking. 06/08/2023 ] Recovery of Missing Adult I Harding and 94 Street Bal Harbour police officers received information via Sunny Isles Beach Police regarding a reported missing and endangered adult possibly in our jurisdiction. Bal Harbour officers devised a plan and conducted a thorough canvass of the condo parking lots and the Bal Harbour Shops. A Bal Harbour officer expanded his search area and located the male at Harding and 94 Street. Miami Dade Fire Rescue responded as a precaution and cleared the male on the scene. The individual was officially recovered and released on the scene to family members. 06/08/2023 I Assist Other Agency j Flanigan's Harding & 95 Street Bal Harbour police officers responded to Surfside after their police officers requested emergency back due to a violent male inside of Flanigan's Restaurant. The male was in custody by the time our officers arrived and only assisted with scene inteqrity and control. 06/08/2023 I Stolen Vehicle Recovery/ Arrest I North Lot Parking Area While conducting radar traffic enforcement, a Bal Harbour police officer observed a newer model BMW speeding northbound on Collins Avenue. Initially, the officer believed the driver was attempting to elude police, however, the driver drove into the north lot dead end and was stopped without incident. The investigation revealed the vehicle was reported stolen out of a Miami Beach car rental company. The juvenile driver was arrested and transported to the downtown Juvenile Detention Center and the two juvenile passengers were released to their parents. Miami Beach police detectives are continuing the investigation as the trio are suspected of other crimes in their jurisdiction.
