Freimark and Members of the Village Council From: Jorge M. Gonzalez, Village Manager 1• Date: June 28, 2023 Subject: Freebee On -Demand Transportation Service Hours Adjustment Starting on July 1, 2023 The purpose of this Letter to Council (LTC) is to transmit to you information related to the adjustment in operating hours forthe Bal Harbour Village Freebee On -Demand transportation service for residents and visitors. The Freebee On -Demand service was initiated on December 21, 2022, with positive results. The current schedule for this service is detailed below: Daily Hours of operation: 8 am - 1 pm; 2 pm - 7 pm The one (1) hour break in service depicted provides for charging, vehicle cleaning and a driver break period. Subsequently during the May 16, 2023, Village Council meeting, a Discussion Item/Presentation detailing the first quarter ridership results was communicated to the Council by Freebee representative Francisco Medina. Mr. Medina provided an analysis of the ridership and noted that the service users primarily requested pickup after 10:00 am. During further discussion, Francisco recommended that the service hours be adjusted to start later and end later to enhance the opportunity for residents to use this service during the evening hours, which resulted in Council consensus being reached. After the May Council meeting and analysis conducted on ridership since inception to date and further discussion with the vendor, starting July 1, 2023, the Freebee hours of operation will be adjusted as detailed below: Monday through Thursday: 10 am - 3 pm; 4 pm - 9 pm Friday/Saturday: 10 am - 3 pm; 4 pm - 10 pm Sunday: 10 am - 3 pm; 4 pm - 7 pm This change of schedule will be posted on the Village website, transmitted via our WENS system, emails, flyers and social media outreach.
