HomeMy Public PortalAbout10-29-2015THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, OCTOBER 29, 2015 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5 :00 P.M., Thursday, October 29, 2015, in the Council Chambers at the Municipal Building, 50 North 51h Street, Richmond, Indiana. President Robinson called the meeting to order and the following business was conducted: ROLL CALL Board members present were: Vicki Robinson, Tony Foster and Dick Foore. Also in attendance were Kim Vessels, Assistant City Attorney; Karen Chasteen City Clerk; Chris Sellers Ordinance Violation Clerk; Roseview Transit Terri Quinter; Police Lt. Donnie Benedict; Park Department Bill Thistlethwaite; Ron Weadick; and, Media. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mr. Foore moved to approve the minutes of October 22, 2015, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Mr. Foster moved to approve Claims for Payment of October 30, 2015 in the amount of Four Hundred Sixteen Thousand Five Hundred Thirty Four Dollars and eleven cents ($416,534.11), supported by Mr. Foore. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. REQUESTS • STREET CLOSURE VETERAN'S COUNCIL — ANNUAL VETERAN'S DAY PARADE SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 7, 2015 —12 Noon 12th & 13th Streets — North A to South A North 10th Street — Main Street to Alley Main Street from 12th — 51h Streets Eastbound lane of Main Street in front of City Building and the use of the City Building parking lot at the end of the Parade Mr. Foore moved to approve, supported by Mr. Foster. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • NEW HANDICAP PARKING SIGN 818 South I Street Mr. Foster moved to table this for further review, supported by Mr. Foore. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • HANDICAP PARKING SIGN RENEWAL 305 Pearl Street Board of Works Minutes October 29, 2015 Page 2 of 2 Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Mr. Foore. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. BID OPENINGS PARK DEPARTMENT — DEFERRED MAINTENANCE OF THE PARKS FACILITIES Proposals were received from: LWC, Richmond $38,280.00 Cube & Company, Lafayette $38,100.00 These proposals were referred to the Department of Parks and Recreation for due diligence. BID AWARDS - None CONTRACTS- None CHANGE ORDERS- None ADDENDUMS- None RESOLUTIONS- None PETITIONS DRIVEWAY PETITION 480 West Eaton Pike Mr. Foore moved to approve, supported by Mr. Foster. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. MISCELLANEOUS • RECOMMENDATION TO REJECT BID FOR VHF REPEATER SYSTEM AT ROSEVIEW TRANSIT Bidder did not provide the required insurance. Mr. Foore moved to approve, supported by Mr. Foster. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. ADJOURNMENT After a motion was duly made, the meeting was adjourned.
