CALL TO ORDER

The October 20, 2008, "Pre- Meeting" Work Session was convened at 5:45 P.M. by Mayor
John Landwehr.
ATTENDANCE
The following Council Members were present:
Present: Carroll (arrived at5:52 P.M.), Ferguson, Harvey, Klindt, Koon, Layton,
Medin and Penfold, and Randolph
Absent: None
A quorum was present.
DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS
Mayor John Landwehr asked if it would be acceptable with the Council to take up the
presentation of the USS Jefferson City Submarine crew members first in the meeting so
their party can leave immediately afterward if they choose to. The Council agreed that
would be a good idea.
Finance Director Steve Schlueter announced there will be a special hearing for food
inspection fees on November 6.
Consent Agenda - Councilman Jim Penfold suggested voting on the two items separately.
Mayor John Landwehr asked staff to find out what would be the impact of letting the lodging
tax lapse for six days if the city places the issue on the April ballot as opposed to the
February ballot.
City Counselor Nathan Nickolaus distributed a new resolution, RS2008 -32, which he stated
Councilman Harvey had requested Friday after the Brown Bag meeting, pertaining to the
County sales tax.
The meeting adjourned at 6:03 P.M.
