Subject: Jetty Project Update
The purpose of this Letter to Council (LTC) is to provide Council an update on the Jetty
project. After countless hours from staff, and our team of consultants, on 09/15/2022 the
United States Army Corp of Engineers (USACE) permit was issued. Our consultant team
was able to skillfully address all review comments and the permit was issued with minor
conditions that will be address during construction.
On September 9, 2022 the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) issued
their permit. They also approved the extension of our original easement for the Jetty.
Pursuant to the receipt of the USACE and FDEP permits, the Florida Inland Navigational
District (FIND) reported that the Village was now in compliance with all the requirements
for the award of their grant in the amount of $2,000,000. The formal grant agreement to
follow.
