Gonzalez, Village Manager )eAr- Date: October 21, 2022 Subject: Launch of New Website The purpose of this Letter to Council (LTC) is to provide you with an overview of the launch of our new website, which officially took place on Tuesday, October 18, 2022. As you may recall, we began this process in 2019, when the Village issued a Request for Proposal for website design and maintenance services. The goal of the redesign was to create one unified platform that could be utilized for both marketing and tourism efforts, as well as providing information on services and programs for residents and stakeholders. After a thorough review and consideration of the proposals received, an agreement was entered into with Fuseideas for the design and development of the new website. Our team has been working closely with Fuseideas over the past year, to create a unified website for both residents and visitors, that exemplifies the pillars of the Bal Harbour Experience. The new site provides a consistent look and feel between both the resident and visitor information. Some important items to note are: • The new site provides one location where residents and visitors can find any information they are looking for (paying a bill, requesting records, reporting an issue, etc.) This eliminates the need for an app, as everything can be found easily on the website. • The new site is available in multiple languages. The user can switch to their preferred language (Hebrew, Portuguese, Russian, or Spanish) using the toolbar in the top right corner: Residents visitors M Events Calendar & J BAL HARBOUR --------- - - ----- 1-k- IWANT TO CAPITAL PROJECTS DOING BUSINESS GOVERNMENT Unscripted Musei 3' QSearch I Select Language DEPARTMENTS H,_brev, Portuguese N.rssre:i SFa1ish • •IM - V I L LAG E - • The new site allows for more flexibility on the backend, which will provide for easier access for our team to make timely edits to information. • The new site will allow for more effective marketing for tourism, with direct advertising and tracking options to maximize targeted efforts. • The new sites prioritized accessibility and responsive design. This allows for increased compliance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) for a more accessible website compared to the old sites. The responsive design improves the overall accessibility of the new sites, and allow for an enhanced user experience as the site automatically adjusts for different screen sizes and platforms. The website URLs remain unchanged and can be accessed using the following links: Residents Site — balharbourfl.gov Visitors Site — balharbourflorida.com Please feel free to contact me or Sylvia Flores directly if you have any questions.
