Gonzalez, Village Manager Date: November 10, 2022 Subject: Unscripted Bal Harbour Art Basel/Miami Beach Fairs & Events The purpose of this Letter to Council (LTC) is to provide you with details of the various art fairs and special events that we have coordinated access to for Bal Harbour residents and visitors, as part of Art Basel/Miami Beach 2022. Our partners this year include The Bass Museum, de la Cruz Collection, Jewish Museum of Florida, Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), Perez Art Museum Miami (PAMM), The Wolfsonian, and YoungArts Campus. Our curated lineup also includes access to SCOPE, NADA and Untitled Art Miami Beach art fairs. Pre -registration is required to access these events and tickets are limited and on a first -come, first -served basis. In addition, you should have received an e-mail from Joanna Crespo on Monday, November 7, with details for your personal invitation for you and one guest to the Art Basel/Miami Beach Fair at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Art Fairs SCOPE Miami Beach 801 Ocean Drive, Miami Beach VIP Opening Preview - Tuesday, November 29, 4 - 8 PM General Access - Wednesday, November 30 - Sunday, December 4, 11 AM - 8 PM Celebrating its 21 st edition, SCOPE Miami Beach returns to its bespoke pavilion on the sands of ocean drive and 8th Street with a selection of contemporary art from over 150 international exhibitors. Bal Harbour residents and visitors have access to a limited number of VIP passes which will grant them admission for every day of the fair, up to twice per day. New Art Dealers Alliance (NADA Miami) Ice Palace Studios, 1400 North Miami Avenue, Miami VIP Opening Preview - Wednesday, November 30, 4 - 7 PM General Access - Thursday, December 1 - Friday, December 2, 11 AM - 7 PM Saturday, December 3, 11 AM - 6 PM NADA Miami 2022 will showcase a diverse selection of 146 galleries, art spaces, and nonprofit organizations spanning over 40 cities around the globe including Paris, Tokyo, Dubai, Toronto, Buenos Aires, and Copenhagen. UNTITLED Art Miami Beach Ocean Drive and 12 St., Miami Beach Tuesday, November 29 - Saturday, December 3, 11 AM - 7 PM Untitled Art will be presenting a program of curated special projects, monuments, performances, podcast conversations, and events for the 2022 edition. Curated Special Events de la Cruz Private Collection Rosa and Carlos de la Cruz Home Monday, November 28, 10:30 AM - 4 PM Bal Harbour Residents and visitors are invited to a preview of the de la Cruz Collection located at their home in Key Biscayne. Exclusive Preview I Leandro Erlich: Liminal Perez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) 1 103 Biscayne Blvd., Miami, FL 33132 Tuesday, November 29, 9 AM - 2 PM Bal Harbour residents and visitors can enjoy a special preview of Leandro Erlich: Liminal at PAMM, the first monographic survey exhibition of his work in North America. Selected and arranged by New York -based guest curator Dan Cameron, the exhibition presents 16 works that span more than two decades of Erlich's production and is designed to suggest an underlying narrative storyline, leading viewers through a series of encounters that act cumulativelyto introduce doubt about their own sensorial input about the spaces around them. Guests will be joined in conversation by the artists and curators for this exclusive event, please RSVP to Marie. 2 Art Week Miami Tour Bass Museum 2100 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach Wednesday, November 30, 2 PM Bal Harbour residents and visitors will enjoy a private guided tour, exploring various highlights of the Museum's collection, including new exhibit The Harvesters by Jamilah Sabur and Phraseology, a new exhibition that explores language in modern and contemporary art. Artists Reception with Artists Didier William, Leah Gordon, & Curators Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) 770 NE 125 St., Miami Thursday, December 1, 6 - 8 PM Join this exclusive opening night reception celebrating two exhibitions and a new public art commission. Artists include Didier William debuting Nou Kite Tout Sa Deye, Leah Gordon presenting Kanaval, and curators Erica Moiah James, Ph.D. and Adeze Wilford. Please RSVP to Marie. Street Shrines: A Wolfsonian Art Basel/Miami Beach VIP Party The Wolfsonian-FIU 1001 Washington Avenue, Miami Beach Friday, December 2, 7 - 10 PM Miami Art Week at The Wolfsonian-FIU culminates with a VIP celebration of superstar artist Robert Lugo's Wolfsonian collection -inspired Street Shrines. Join Lugo as he unveils his provocative ceramics in conversation with newly created works, including a full-scale exterior mural honoring figures from Miami's Bahamian and Haitian communities alongside pop culture icons. Art Basel Brunch Jewish Museum of Florida - FIU 301 Washington Avenue, Miami Beach Sunday, December 4, 10:30 AM - 1:30 PM Bal Harbour residents and visitors are invited to join the Jewish Museum of Florida - FIU for an open house event where guests can meet with some of the artists on exhibition, including Silvia Cohen, Beatriz Chachamovits, Mira Lehr, and Lauren Shapiro.
