Gonzalez, Village Manager A&f' Date: December 2, 2022 Subject: Upcoming Dates and Events The purpose of this Letter to Council (LTC) is to inform you of the following upcoming events and dates related to Village operations: Village Meetings Tuesday, December 13, 2022 Village Council Meeting (6:30 pm) Thursday, January 5, 2023 Architectural Review Board (1:00 pm) Monday, January 23, 2023 Police Officers' Retirement Board (3:00 pm) Friday, January 27, 2023 Resort Tax Committee (11:30 am) Events on the Horizon Monday, December 5, 2022 "Annual Holiday Celebration" (7:00 - 9:00 pm) Our holiday lights and decorations will be lit prior to the event, but we invite you to join us as we celebrate the holiday season in Bal Harbour. This complimentary event will include musical performances, light refreshments, and a light snowfall. If you plan to attend, please RSVP to Marie. Wednesday, December 7, 2022 "Full Moon Yoga" (5:30 - 6:30 pm) Located on the beach by the jetty. RSVP to Marie or email events@balharbourfl.gov. Thursday, December 29, 2022 "Movie Night on the Beach" (7 - 9 pm) featuring Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile. Enjoy a family -friendly movie on the beach with friends and neighbors. Refreshments and activities begin at 7 pm, and the movie begins at 7:30 pm. Located on the beach by the jetty. RSVP to Marie or email events@balharbourfl.gov. Saturday, December31, 2022 Sunday, January 1, 2023 The following are all Art Miami related events: Friday, December 2 - Saturday, December 3, 2022 Friday, December 2, 2022 "New Year's Eve Fireworks Display" (12 am) Ring in the New Year with a festive display of fireworks over Bal Harbour Beach. Fireworks begin at midnight off the jetty and can be viewed along the beach. "New Year's Day Concert" (4 - 5:30 PM) Start the year off with a special concert featuring the South Florida Symphony Orchestra on the beach by the jetty. Limited seating is provided. "Unscripted Art Basel/Miami Beach" Miami Street Photography Festival HistoryMiami Museum 101 West Flagler Street, Miami 11 AM-7PM The Miami Street Photography Festival, in partnership with HistoryMiami Museum, is an international photography festival showcasing the best of contemporary street and documentary photography viewed through the eyes of established and emerging photographers. "Unscripted Art Basel/Miami Beach" Street Shrines: A Wolfsonian Art Basel/Miami Beach VIP Party The Wolfsonian-FIU 1001 Washington Avenue, Miami Beach 7- 90PM Miami Art Week at The Wolfsonian-FIU culminates with a VIP celebration of superstar artist Robert Lugo's Wolfsonian collection - inspired Street Shrines. Join Lugo as he unveils his provocative ceramics in conversation with newly created works, including a full-scale exterior mural honoring figures from Miami's Bahamian and Haitian communities alongside pop culture icons. Saturday, December 3, 2022 "Unscripted Art Basel/Miami Beach" Painting in Excess: Ukrainiian Art in Times of Political Upheaval I Panel Discussion & Book Presentation Coral Gables Museum 285 Aragon Avenue, Coral Gables 10:00 AM - 12 PM Join the Coral Gables Museum for a conversation on the challenges of contemporary Ukrainian art in times of war in the context of the exhibition 'Painting in Excess: Kyiv's Art Revival, 1985 - 1993'. Following the conversation, please join Asia Bazdireva, Alisa Lozhkina, and Julia Tulovsky, contributors to the scholarly publication 'Painting in Excess: Kyiv's Art Revival, 1985 - 1993' that accompanies the exhibition, as they present the book. Sunday, December 4, 2022 "Unscripted Art Basel/Miami Beach" 18t" Annual Breakfast in the Park at Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum FIU 10975 Southwest 17 Street, Miami 11 AM - 2 PM This year's Breakfast in the Park celebration features a conversation with internationally - renowned artist Maria Magdalena Campos -Pons and innovative curator Elvia Rosa Castro.
