NARRATIVE: (Indicate status of project, progress and problems).
With days longer and Summer around the corner, the month of June kept
the Graffi[i Program quite busy.
The target aiea for June was the NorthEastern section of town. This
area was also the center of attention for the Recreation 6 Parks
Beautification Tour on June 27th.
The portable radios were received and installed in the vehicles this
month.
We would also�like to acknowledge continued cooperation with the local
law enforcement agencies and the Community Youth Gang Services.

BACKGROUND
The- Recreation and Parks Departmen[ was allocated Two Hundred Twenty-
Three Thousand, Eight Hundred Thirty-Two doTlars (�223,882) of HCDA
funds to once again implement the Anti-Graffiti Program in the City of
" Lynwoad.
The program operated from July 1, 1988 through June 30, 1984. This was
the 2nd year of operation for the Anti-Graffiti Program. This 2nd year
of operation included:
1. Employmenb of one (1) Field Supervisor, three (3) full-time
Laborers, one (1) Office Assistant II; and three (3) Hourly
Laborers.
2. The ,purchase of a one (1) ton Stake Bed Truck and a one (1)
ton Step Van.
_- 3. The increase in hourly personnel to combat the graffiti.

4. The purchase of the 2nd Portable Cold Water Pressure Washer.
5. The addition of alley clean up.
6. Continued Co�unication with The Lynwood Sheriff's Department,
The Young People of Lynwood, and The Co�unity You[h Gang
Services. '
7. The institution of weekly targe[ areas in all sections of the .
City.
8. Gontinued assessment of the Community needs 3n regards [o the
graffiti problem.
