Jackson Lambert Lee Leighton Hull William Middleton I The meeting was called to order by the Chairman, Bill Kolitz. � � I The meeting began with an introduction by Bill Kolitz of � the Lynwood Local Development Company Board of Directors � and followed with individual self-introductions by all ' those present. ` Mr. Kolitz gave a brief history of the Lynwood Local Development Company and then turned the meeting over to i Francisco Jimemez who proceeded to explain the goals and objectives of the Lynwood Local Development Company. Mr. � Jimenez also explained the various programs managed by the � Lynwood Local.Development Company including the loan � program and Techincal Assistance Programs available to the � Lynwood Community. Mr Benjamin Miranda raised a question i as to the funding of loans to the community specifically I his question had to do with whether or not minority i businesses were being funding here in the city by LLDC funds. j Mr. Jimenez explained to Mr. Miranda that thus far, all I but one loan has been to minority or black entrepreneurs � located here in the city. Mr. Miranda requested specific � data relative to the gender of those minority individuals. � Mr. Jimenez explained that most of these loans had been to I husband and wife teams. Mr. Jimenez offered to make public the lists of loan applicants is these loan applicants � agree to have their names publicized. Mr. Jimenez noted that in some cases, these entrepreneurs would prefer not to have it be public knowledge that they have secured � funding for their business. At the conclusion of this discussion chairman Kolitz adjourned the meeting for � lunch. There were approximately a 20 minute lunch break. I Chairman Kolitz reconvened the meeting of the Lynwood I Local Development Company at approximately 12:45 p.m. At that point and time a reading of current members of the Lynwood Local Development Company was read aloud. ! ; I _ � , _ __; � � . Those of the list for current memebership were: ' Paul Solanki Rick Garrison Treva Metoyer E.L. Morris Harry Prins Jim McPherson James Morton Evelyn Wells , Larry Larson Charles Gomez � Carl Sherman Vincente Mas . Layton Hull Benard Steuber LaVoneia Steele Membership applications were then distributed to those ` present who were not currently on the list. Verification was made of their place of business and/or employment by review by City Staff and conferencing with the individual members. Once the applications were reviewed, ballots were distributed to those capable of voting. Nominations were made from the floor. NOMINATIONS Nominations included: Bill Kolitz ,. Benny Miranda Dr. Steele Bernard Lake Edison Jackson Zra Jones • Layton Hull Jim Morton : Cecilia Arroyo I All those nominated accepted nominations and stood for i election. Ballots were distributed by secret ballot. i , Voting took place. �;� Tabulations were undertaken by LLDC Accountant, Robert I , Johnson, and LLDC staff, Francisco Jimenez. ELECTION RESULTS � Re-elected to the Board were: ' William Kolitz I � Bernard Lake Newly elected members to the Board of Directors were: � ' Layton Hull Cecilia Arroyo I LaVoneia Steele i I „ Those elected accepted the position of Lynwood ', ' Development Company Board Members. i Councilman E.L. Morris then thanked the outgoing members j of the Lynwood Local Development Company, including Jim I Morton, Dr. Bernard Steuber, and Harry Prins for their work � with the LLDC and for their contribution to the Lynwood i community in general. Their resignations were accepted by ' ' Mr. Morris. Mr. Morris then seated the new members of the � Lynwood Local Development Company and thanked them for ' i their contributions in the future to the Lynwood Local I Development Company and to the Lynwood community in ( general. ' ( The staff inember, Francisco Jimenez then thanked the i outgoing Board of Directors for their contributions to the LLDC and for their kindness toward him. He then welcomed i the incomming Board of Directors and stated he was looking forward to working with them in the future. Chairman Kolitz then adjourned the Election Meeting of the � Lynwood Local Development Company at 1:25 p.m. � � _. , . � t � i �r. �
