COMMUNITY ACCESS ADVISORY BOARD
Minutes for the Meeting of
June 18, 1990 �
The regular meeting of the Community Access Advisory Board of the
City of Lynwood, California was held on June 18, 1990 in the
Council Chambers of the City Hall (The agenda was duly posted
as prescribed by the Brown Act).
Chairperson Mary Wright called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
Members in attendance were Mary Wright, Bill Cunningham and Ann
Fields. Absent was Ada McZeal. Excused was Rev. Coleman. Staff
present were Roy Bufanda and Carol de Jesus.
The minutes of the meeting were approved with a correction
indicated by Chairperson Mary Wright: (page 2, fourth paragraph
from the bottom. The third segment of the Lynwood Showcase
should read as the second segment). Motion carried.
SCHEDULED MATTERS
A. STATUS REPORT ON LYNWOOD SHOWCASE:
1. SHOWTIME - The Board would like to review�the time slot for
the showcase presentation. They felt Friday night is not a i
good time to present the Lynwood Showcase because of other
prime time programs on regular television. . �

2. SENIOR CITIZEN VIDEO SEGMENT - The board suggested that the I
video should feature more visual activities and less oral j
narration. I
3. The Board's sub-committee in charge of establishing program ;
content should attempt to produce a more detailed format of i
varied segments for future productions. The guidelines
should focus on what the Board wished its contents to emphasize.
4. Chairperson Wright and Ann Fields will be working on a more !
detailed format on:
a. Library - to include the literary program, equipments, etc. i
b. St. Francis Hospital !
(i) admitting room and protocol of how patients are '
screened for admittance !
(ii) emergency room procedure I

5. More publicity on the Showcase is vital, either through water
billing inserts such as ("Get to Know your City, Watch
Lynwood Showcase") or publication of the Lynwood Journal �
Profile for Progress section.
B. AUDITION FOR LYNWOOD HOST ,
The Board reviewed the Fact Sheet submitted by Recreation
and Parks staff on the application process for Lynwood
Showcase host. The Board proposed that 1) the application
form should be fairly simple and 2) the candidates for the
showcase host should basically come from a group willing to
volunteer their services.
The Board would also like to know how this application
process will be disseminated to the public.
C. DISCUSSION OF LYNWOOD INFORMATION INC. BUDGET
The Board was presented with the proposed LII Budget for
90/91. Motion by Bill Cunningham seconded by Ann Fields and
carried to approve the proposed LII budget for 1990/91.
Motion carried.
Meeting adjourned at 6:20 p.m.
