CALL TO ORDER

The Council "Pre- Meeting" Work Session of September 4, 2007, was convened at 5:45 P.M.
by Mayor John Landwehr.
ATTENDANCE
The following Council Members were present:
Present: Brown, Crane, Ferguson, Harvey, Klindt, Layton, Koon, Medin, and
Penfold
Absent: Smith
A quorum was present.

DA ITEMS
Mayor John Landwehr explained what can and cannot be discussed regarding the Fire
Department hiring practices which will be reported on by City Administrator Steve Rasmussen
at tonight's meeting. He stated if a Council wishes to get into specifics such as names of
applicants, they can ask that a Closed Session be held for that purpose.
Councilman Dan Klindt stated he will leave the airport lease bills on the Informal Calendar.
Councilman Brian Crane requested that Resolution RS2007 -17 be taken up early in the
meeting as he will have to leave immediately after that. The Mayor and Council did not state
any reasons they could not accommodate Councilman Crane's request.
Mayor John Landwehr asked if staff will object to postponing its report on Flood Mitigation to
the September 17 meeting if the meeting becomes quite lengthy tonight. Community
Development Director Pat Sullivan stated that report can be made at any time the Council so
wishes and would not mind postponing if necessary.
Councilman Brian Crane will make an announcement about the Conference Center Selection
Committee meeting.
The meeting adjourned at 6:00 P.M.
